In the Summer I live in Brookings (Southern Oregon) "Azalea Park" area, in south Brookings, just a little north of the Chetco River. Azalea is an area filled local art , and a beautiful Christmas light show just near by where there is a great park for the family to visit with playscape and shrubbery of Azalea enriched greenery walkways leading to several areas throughout. Plenty of free outdoor concerts in the summertime as well. By traveling a few blocks I encounter an awesome southern Oregon Italian restaurant, a Japanese eatery, a Swiss bakery and an all-American Jazz live back in the park on weekends. If I go a little farther, I hit the coffee shops, fresh fish markets in harbor and shop the upper-end clothing stores in the downtown area.

Or, I can go to harbor, where I'm sure to find some great eatery at the smugglers cove or walk on the beach in wonderful weather most year round. When I first moved to Brookings I was impressed by the people and how friendly they were. Usually cities with a hip cultural climate like Brookings cultivate a spirit of indifference.  Not Brookings Southern Oregon.... Brookings oregon coast people are great to be around. They value individual expression while taking an acute interest in public life. Often this means taking their opinions to the local newspaper Curry Coastal Pilot. I may not agree with every statement, but the support is truly one of a kind.

Of course I don't have to stay in the city limits. Harris Beach rests on the north side and it's beauty is like a sea quest dream, beckoning all ocean front nature nuts. Most of the scenic photos taken (for postcards) of Oregon coast are taken of this beach. Your real estate in Brookings is within minutes of hiking, skiing, rafting, fishing, surfing, wind surfing, and Oregon's magnificent coast.  Brookings southern Oregon real estate is available for the outdoor enthusiast who is ready to get out of the city madness.

Once I've crossed the Chetco river I can head to the Harbor District. The boast and beach park are a great place to relax and enjoy the sunset. Smugglers cove restaurant is right on the beach and does weekend live music entertainment. A great place to eat and Enjoy!

Okay, there are a lot of great things about Brookings. I bought my vacation property real estate here just 3 years ago and it's tripled in value. I've thought about selling it and making a very nice return all at once, but The property on the southern Oregon coast can only go up from here on. However I keep coming back to the people really. Brookings Oregon Coast people are not easily defined, and that is what makes them interesting. They are people who feel comfortable in Ocean View Surroundings and I guess that just makes everyone a little more at ease with life. Brookings has a large based retirement community setting. Brookings is a town of "good neighbor" like people that wave to one another in passing and that is what makes it a great place. That is why I love Brookings.

Ok and now for the plug.. There's still decent land and homes in southern Oregon Coast (real estate)  priced for the buyer to take advantage of the retirement community so if your planning retirement, get in now, time share your property, then retire in it later. It's the most efficient investment system yielding at least 10% on equity annually in most cases.
